The NS record type

The NS (nameserver) record type returns the nameservers responsible for the subdomain.

Here, we query for NS records of the domain “”. The result is two nameservers underneath “”.

The IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of these two nameservers are also returned in the Additional section of the response, as indicated by the “+” character.
