The NS record

The NS (nameserver) record returns the nameservers responsible for the subdomain.

Example

Here, we query for NS records of the domain example.com. The result is two nameservers underneath iana-servers.net.

The IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of these two nameservers are also returned in the Additional section of the response.
